Adolescent Counseling
Teenagers...Sometimes things are peaceful and simple. Other times they are tumultuous and confusing. Near constant distraction from cell phones and an ever-changing world of school, sports, friends, and the world creates an environment where feelings can be ignored for a long time...Until they can’t. Are you concerned about your teen, but struggle to know how they are really doing and connect with them the way you used to? Is their behavior leading them on a path you don’t want them to go? Are they in trouble often and making poor choices? Do they seem depressed or anxious? Are your conversations disconnected or more like arguments?

I specialize in working with teenagers and parents and have been working with adolescents for nearly 20 years. If you need a counselor to talk with your teen or you are wanting some parenting reinforcement, please reach out to me! I would love to see your family and provide the support that is needed.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. I wholeheartedly agree. I have seen the positive impact of mentoring and therapy. Maybe you or your teen has participated in therapy before or you're searching around for the first time. In whatever season this is, I believe it's a good time to begin therapy. Reach out to a therapist who cares about your journey.

Meaningful Connection in The Age of Technology
Are you feeling like you're constantly vying for your child's attention and you're in a battle against their devices; their phone, the computer, social media accounts, video games? The age of technology has so many benefits, but one area it has created extra challenges is in family relationships. Don't lose heart! We can work together to find ways to continue to build and rebuild meaningful family relationships.
School Concerns, Peer Relationships, Body Image
I had the privilege of teaching High School for several years. Through this I gained a lot of insight into what it's like to be a counselor, a teacher, a parent, and the student having issues at school. Each role holds their own unique perspectives and concerns. Difficulties in peer relationships, school performance, academics and behavior, amongst other concerns are often linked to anxiety, depression, substance use, other environmental factors, eating disorders or self-harm. There's no doubt these are massive stressors that impact a families' life daily. Thankfully, I have seen therapy work and lead to a better outcomes and more hope.
